Dostojevski - Karamazovin veljekset

Ei perkele. En muista mistä mä tän alkuperäisen idean sain mutta ajatelin että näiden klassikoiden kuuntelu on hyvästä. Tää on joku originaali 2005 vuonna äänitetty brittituotos ja lukija ei ihan onnistu saamaan meikäläistä mukaan. Ensinnäkin kieli on jotain kaunista venäläistä käännöstä joten tätä on vaikeaa seurata hyvissäkin olosuhteissa, puhumattakaan koiran kanssa lenkkeillessä talvisessa metsässä kun yrittää samalla pitää ajatukset poissa työstressistä.

Noh. Yritän kuitenkin. Ehkä joskus vielä saan voimia ottaa tän uusiksi ja ymmärrän mistä tässä on kyse.

Antonio Iturbe - Librarian of Auschwitz

This book is just based on true story but is mostly fictional. On the same genre as last one this
continues the theme of holocaust / survivor story. This one tells story from the children's barrack in Auschwitz-Birkenau  concentration camp and how one man managed world's smallest library of just eight books.

Well don't count me on the description. Go ahead and google for better review. The voice of the narrator is very good and her pronounciation is clear. Narrator reads the text as it is a play so that might distract some. She has awful imitation of russian jews.

This book was good.... just not as good as the document like previos one so reading them in this order was not a good idea. 

Eva Schloss - After Auschwitz

This time I will write in english as the whole book is in English and I suspect that most of the
interested audience will be in english.

This book is written by kind of "step sister" of Anne Frank - She was the daughter of Otto Frank's wife she married after they all survived the horrors of holocaust. Eva also knew Anne from their childhood. Eva's brother, father, Anne, her sister and mother didn't survive. This is Eva's story.

Eva like thousands of jews were hunted by Nazis and after what would have been very interesting adventure story if it wasn't true, she was caught on her 15th birthday in may 1944. She and her family was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and she escaped death only by luck. This book also tells how it was for the survivors afterwards. (Sorry for not being more thorough reviewer - but you can find better ones on the internet if you like...)

This is very very touching book and I really shouldn't have listened this just before christmas because it made me sad. Reader is very good and has captivating voice. This book is on the same time highly recommended and on my do not read list. Go ahead, read it. Listen to it. It is essential to know this for being a human being.

Hannelore Brenner - Girls of room 28

Nyt on sen aika että hiljennytään jouluun. Tämä kirja kertoo aika rankoista jutuista ja alaotsikko on  Ystävyys, toivo ja selvitymibeb Theresienstadtissa.

Isoja isoja juttuja.

Oi voi. Erittäin mielenkiintoinen kirja mutta jää kuuntelematta siitä syystä että varmuuskopioni on pilaantunut eikä kuunneltavissa. Jopa niin hyvin pilattu että veikkaan tämän olevan tahallinen.

Juhani Peltonen - Elmo

ooooo, kaksinkertainan ooooo. Tämä on yksi nuoruuteni suosikkikirjoista ja tämän lukee
ehdottomasti äänikirjoja äänien kärkikastiin jo pelkästään nostalgisuutensa vuoksi nouseva Kauko Helovirta!

Tässä kirjassa - jos joku ei ole tätä lukenut kerrotaan viisikikkaraisesta pojasta nimeltä Elmo. Elmo on legendaarinen suomalainen supermies joka hiihtokilpailussa pysähtyy polttamaan piippua ja syömään pemmikaania. Pitkään tämän kirjan jälkeen haaveilin pemmikaanista (kunnes kuulin että se on hedelmäinen talipallo) ja piipun polttamisesta. Oi voi.

Mahtavia sloganeita tästä on jälkipolville jäänyt - kuten esim Koillisen "täysinäinen kukkaro ei kilise", "Ole pelkkä Elmo sitten, valo kanssasi. Minäkin olen ainoastaan Koillinen, älä sekoita minua kaakkoon". Olen vielä alkuvaiheessa joten en loppuja edes muista, mutta vannon että niitä on paljon.

Tämä on tosiaankin hyvä kirja ja ansaitsee paitsi uudelleen kuuntelun niin myös uudelleen 5/5. Pikakertaus jos et lukenut aiempaa arvostelua: Kirja kertoo miksi tilastot eivät aina kerro kaikkea, tai miksi ne joskus kertovat liikaakin.
